Adrian Kirby

Adrian Kirby is one of the UK's leading entrepreneurs and an expert in the fields of property, the environment and investment.

For many years Adrian was at the forefront of the UK property market, as chief executive and director of a number of prestigious companies across both the residential and commercial sectors.

With a reputation built on achieving outstanding results for shareholders and stakeholders, Adrian is considered one of the country's foremost industry experts with a knowledge transcending various sectors.

In the mid 1990s, as a result of a number of successful acquisitions, Adrian Kirby moved from the investment sector into the waste management industry. He built and ran a niche environmental business with over 100 employees which incorporated state-of-the-art systems for industrial waste separation and treatment.

It was these early experiences that helped shape Adrian's understanding of environmental issues and to this day he is extremely passionate about climate change and promoting environmental awareness among corporations.

In recent years Adrian has also thrown his hat into the private equity sector. He has a proven track record in helping struggling businesses turn around their fortunes, investing both his time and investor capital into various ventures.

One example is furniture and accessory store Lombok, which he successfully helped turn around.

Adrian Kirby is now researching environmentally friendly business models, including sustainable energy production, forestry and biodegradable packaging. He is especially interested through his private equity vehicle Ravensbourne in investing in small and medium-sized businesses that, due to a lack of funding during the economic downturn, have found themselves in trouble.

Ravensbourne has already secured two major transactions, the most recent being an FMCG company where some 200 jobs have been secured this year and where there is a commitment to roll out and grow the business into a number of premium ethical brands.

A number of other opportunities are currently being looked at either directly by Ravensbourne or with City and West End partners, depending on the prospective transaction size.
